Many contemporary literary texts use the tools and figures of inquiry to explore reality. Just as many proclaim their belief in the democratization of writing, and in paying special attention to the “humble”, the “lost” and the “voiceless”. But contemporary writing cannot ignore the risk that its own discourse represents - that of reducing or using the otherness it claims to account for: investigation can also obscure part of reality.
