Ŋeːɣidal təːluŋəltin-dəː, ulgujiltin-daː, etkaltin-daː. Negidal’skie skazki, rasskazy i obyčai. [Negidal fairy tales, stories, and traditions]
Résumé
This book is a compilation of fairy tales, anecdotes, and descriptions of taboos and traditions in Negidal with parallel Russian translations. Negidal, a Northern Tungusic minority language of the Russian Federation, is on the verge of extinction, with only a handful of speakers of varying proficiency left. These live on the Amgun’ river in the Russian Far East. The texts included here were recorded in the 1990s and from 2005-2010. The original audio recordings are available online in the Endangered Languages Archive: https://elar.soas.ac.uk/Соllection/MPI1041287.
The volume is primarily intended for educational purposes for lessons of Negidal language and culture, but will also be of use to readers with an interest in the languages and cultures of the Russian Far East.
