Ammon et le sphinx : une émission celte énigmatique du nord de la Gaule

Abstract : This contribution presents a so far overlooked Celtic coin type which mentions an hitherto unkown Gallic Iulius. It offers a catalogue of the five known copies as well as a tentative interpretation. The coins sport the head of Jupiter Ammon on the observe and a sphinx on the reverse; its minting can be placed in the 30s-20s BC, possibly on the Treveran territory.
