Étude des propriétés de transport de films nanocomposites de polybutylène succinate (PBS)/nanoplaquettes de graphène (GnP) : Influence de la température et de l'humidité

Abstract : In a context in which alternatives for the use of fossil resources are under concern, an actual trend is to make a transition from non-biodegradable petrosourced polymers to bio-based and biodegradable polymers. Hence, a polyester, the polybutylene succinate (PBS) is a material of interest. In terms of transport properties of small molecules, PBS has a relatively high water and dioxygen permeabilities. An improvement approach of these properties can be found by addition of impermeable, high aspect ratio, lamellar fillers, such as graphene nanoplatelets (GnP). In this work, transport properties (water sorption and permeability to water and dioxygen) of PBS/GnP nanocomposites elaborated by melt process, had been evaluated at different water activities and different temperatures. These analyses led to the determination of activation energies of various transport phenomenon. An original route was to use small molecules as a probe at a molecular scale, in order to establish relationships between morphology, structure, and transport properties of PBS/GnP nanocomposites at different filler loadings.
